Food Chain
A food chain is like a menu in nature. It shows the order in which animals and plants are eaten. It usually starts with plants, which are called producers because they make their own food through photosynthesis. Then come the plant-eating animals called herbivores. They eat plants to get energy. Next, there are meat-eating animals called carnivores or predators. They eat other animals. And sometimes, there are animals that eat both plants and other animals, known as omnivores.
Food Web
A food web is like a big puzzle that shows many food chains connected together. In nature, animals and plants often eat more than one kind of thing. So, a food web is more realistic because it shows all the different ways animals get their food.
